As Principal of The Teresian Secondary School, it is my pleasure to introduce our new school website and warmly invite you to browse and experience a flavour of the wonderful events taking place in our school. Whether you are a current member of the school community or a prospective parent, thank you for taking the time to learn more about us.
The Teresian School is a Catholic Secondary School for girls under the trusteeship of The Teresian Association. While we have a strong Catholic ethos we welcome students of all faiths and none.
The secondary school has approximately 200 students with small class sizes. We offer a broad curriculum, delivered by a qualified, committed, dedicated and passionate teaching staff. We work consistently to maintain an excellent academic record, with most of our students progressing to university and other third level institutions. Pastoral care in The Teresian School involves supporting and encouraging each student physically, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually.
The family-type atmosphere of our school, ensures that there are strong relationships between staff and students and each member of our school community is truly valued and cared for in their own uniqueness. We work in partnership with our parents and strive to ensure that all our students, regardless of ability, reach their full potential in a positive learning environment.
We have a dynamic co-curricular programme with opportunities for sports, music, drama, choir, debating and public speaking. We have recently completed the Jubilee Project which includes a state of the art sports hall and hockey pitch.
Our dynamic and active Parents’ Council support the school not only with fundraising initiatives but also with policy development and school planning. Student Leadership is encouraged through the Student Council, Sports’ Captains and Amber Flag team and other opportunities. We have a strong link with the Teresian Association school in Peru, fundraising for their pupils and sending fifth year students to Villa El Salvador for a two week immersion experience.
All in all “Our aim is to educate seriously, solidly, reasonably” in a “spirit of Fortitude and Love”. St. Pedro Poveda.
While reading about our school may be informative, it is in visiting our school campus that you will most likely get a real sense of The Teresian School and its motto of Joy, Fortitude and Love as lived out in the day to day experiences of our students and staff. I look forward to meeting you in person.
