‘All of us can cooperate as instruments of God for the care of creation, each according to one’s own culture, experience, involvements and talents.’  LS 14

Season of Creation 2021

Every year from 1 September to 4 October, the feast day of St Francis of Assisi, Christians from different traditions celebrate the Season of Creation.

A home for all

‘Restoring our common home’ is the theme chosen by the churches in Ireland calling for actions to repair and bring back the equilibrium and balance of our ecosystems.

The Season of Creation ecumenical theme “A home for all” takes inspiration from the symbolism of welcome, hospitality and simplicity of the Tent of Abraham and Sarah in the book of Genesis proposed by the International Team.

Healthy Planet and Healthy People

Ahead of the upcoming UN Conferences on Biodiversity (COP15) and Climate Change (COP26) the ‘Healthy Planet and Healthy People Petition’ calls on government leaders and policymakers to put in place urgent action protecting nature and the biodiversity of our common home.

Dermot Farrell, the current Archbishop of Dublin has written a pastoral letter ‘The Cry of the Earth, the Cry of the Poor’ calling for bold actions transforming our lifestyles and our economies in a spirit of solidarity and tangible expression of our faith.
