This week we heard from Penny Omell (née Woods) from the Teresian Class of 1975.
Penny was in one of the first groups to complete the full stretch of 12 years in the Teresian School. She has fond memories of running around the hockey pitch and basketball court with her school friends, and Suzanne McGowan as Principal.
After finishing in the Teresian School, Penny went on to study medicine in UCD, but then transferred to Physiotherapy at Trinity. Today… Penny is a wealth manager at CIBC Wood Gundy and partner in the Omell Financial Group. What a professional journey!
Penny had a strong female influence from her mother, Moira Woods, who was ahead of her time in thinking about women’s reproductive rights and sexual assault. Both Moira and her partner, Cathal Goulding, were very active in political and social change in Ireland .
On the personal side, Penny is Mum to Ben and Erin, and married to Ron for 31 years. She loves travelling and is working on her golf game. Good luck!
Great to hear from Penny this week – such interesting and diverse stories that have come from our Past Pupils!
