The Teresian Junior School first opened its doors in 1965. 52 years later a Pre-School, Junior School and Secondary School occupy the impressive Donnybrook campus. The school continues to thrive, offering a dynamic and stimulating learning environment in which students excel academically, socially and in the sporting world. The Teresian Junior School provides a unique educational experience, which encourages students to be confident, caring and thoughtful people.
The Teresian School has recently undergone a complete refurbishment, including the addition of a four court multi-purpose hall and the provision of three new classrooms. The school community enjoys state of the art educational facilities, including bright spacious classrooms equipped with interactive whiteboards, hockey pitches, basketball courts, an outdoor classroom, a library and a school chapel.
Our school is renowned for academic excellence due in no small part to the commitment and dedication of a most progressive group of teachers. The class teachers’ expertise expands the curriculum so that students experience a well-rounded education. Our team of teachers are well trained with a vocation to educate, employing modern and innovative teaching methodologies to deliver an integrated and inclusive curriculum.
Additionally, our students benefit from enthusiastic specialist teachers in the following areas: Spanish, French, speech & drama, singing and computer studies. The school also offers a well-established sports department, with successful coaches in: athletics, physical activities, hockey, basketball, tennis, cricket and netball. We value sport as a great expression of our community life, everyone gets a chance in the Teresian School. The participation of our committed students, sports teachers and parents has produced results we can all be proud of.
There is an extensive extra-curricular programme available in the Teresian Junior School, including ballet, French, choir, coding, art and dance classes. In addition, a study class runs after-school in which students can complete their homework.
The motto of The Teresian School is JOY, FORTITUDE AND LOVE. The school incorporates this ethos into every aspect of school life, from the classroom to the hockey pitch and on all of our outings – joy, fortitude and love form the foundation of our mission.
The Teresian School encourages the promotion of the Family Spirit in the school community. Parents are every child’s first teacher and taken singly neither the family nor the school can face all the challenges of education. Rather each should complement, help and support the other. Parental involvement is encouraged, the school partners with parents to provide our students with a rigorous, engaging and high-quality Christian education. Working together we can make sure your child’s social, emotional and academic needs are met.
My vision as principal of the Teresian Junior School is to lead the teaching and learning in a collaborative school environment. I hope you enjoy browsing the school website. Please feel free to visit our campus, meet our team and experience the familiar atmosphere of joy, fortitude and love in The Teresian School.
