Classes may be on hold for the moment, but the sun is shining and spring is in full bloom.

No better time than for children to explore the garden and see what they can discover. There are some great, age appropriate resources here on the Kids Gardening site.

Just before we had to take a break from school, a group of our 1st Class students were working on their Green Team initiative to make the Teresian School a greener, cleaner place!

Anna, Charlotte Nya, Lily and Juliette used their own free time during lunch to pick up rubbish that may have been dropped or blown away by other students. They are always sure to wear gloves or use a ‘picker upper’ to be safe. As part of the Green Team, they plant seeds in the beds in the garden, and try to spread their message to other students. They think everyone should know how important it is for the environment and for the world.

These fabulous five are planning a Fun Friday in May to raise money for their Green Initiative – they hope to have a bake sale and tours and a treasure hunt in their wonderful garden.

Well done, girls! Hopefully your great work will inspire other children to do the same. Gardening can be great fun!
