We had the most wonderful morning for the official launch of our beautiful Victoria Díez Library yesterday. The sun was shining into our already vibrant library, and we had a fantastic lineup of guests- our junior choir sang us a Christmas carol, there was a duet from two of our secondary students, we had a poetry recital by the winner of the 6th year poetry feis and different students spoke of the importance of the library to them. To top it all off, we had a very special guest, Ryan Tubridy, who spoke to our students  not only about the importance of reading, but also about standing up for themselves and for others when they witness bullying. As most of us had watched the Late Late Toy Show on Friday night, we’d all been moved by Sophia’s story, and our Teresian girls are strong anti-bullying ambassadors already, so it was great to hear that message reinforced.

Watch the clip here.

We really enjoyed having Ryan visit our school and would love for him to visit again!

We also happen to have the best librarian ever, and Robin himself will be sharing his own reflection on the journey of the new library in the days to come, so watch this space! In the meantime, here are some of the photos of our opening:
