On Wednesday 13th September 2017, our school celebrated the raising of our 4th Green Flag for Travel, awarded to us last May in the Helix.
We were very privileged to have the Defence Forces’ Army Band, led by Captain Fergal Carroll, come to the school and perform for us at the ceremony. They played a wide repertoire of music and taught us about the different instruments and how they work. The girls really enjoyed the Military March, ‘You’ve Got a Friend in Me’, ‘On Top of the World’ and ‘Frozen’, to name but a few. We thank them for an incredible afternoon. This concert was followed by the raising of the green flag by Carola, Elizabeth and Rachel, the Green Schools Representatives from Class 6, and Claudia Ní Dhonnchadha Sabato. We then had an ice-cream van ready to continue the celebrations after lunch.
We would like to thank the full school in helping us to achieve the Green Schools Travel Flag and we hope that everyone continues to make an effort to ‘Walk, Cycle, Scoot or Run, it Doesn’t Matter, it’s all Fun!!’
